History Of Worst Pandemics
What is Pandemic?
Pandemic is said to be a sudden outbreak of new disease that infects humans on a large scale. Pandemic is often attributed to the sudden outbreak of an infection that is communicable and transmitted to other humans worldwide in a matter of time. The world has seen many pandemics in history each claiming life of 20 million people on average. These pandemics leave the worst impacts on the economy and society.
According to WHO, " A pandemic is a type of epidemic disease outbreak that results in the death of millions of people. This disease should be communicable and contagious (transmitting from one person to another). Non-communicable and non-contagious diseases are not included in pandemics". For example, Cancer is the largest cause of human deaths in the world but, it's not called a pandemic. Cancer is non-contagious and non-communicable, so it's not a pandemic
