Reality of Antibacterial Soaps and Hand Washes
There is no doubt that it is very important to wash your hands with soap. But the truth is that there are some international fraudsters trying to cash the current situation in world.
You see the ad on TV. All the children are on a white board. After a while the germs are shown growing on all sides except for one hand mark. And it is said that this child washed his hands with the safeguard (name taken as examplery) soap, so germs did not grow here but can grow everywhere else.
Given the impression that if a child washes hands with Safe Guard soap. The germs will not grow on his hands for long and afterwards. And the germs will begin to grow immediately at the hands of the rest who didn't use Safeguard soap.
Safe Guard is a Procter & Gamble product. The only difference between a common soap and antibacterial soap is that it contains a small amount of the antibacterial or antiseptic chemical zinc pyrithione. In addition to the other popular antiseptic available in soap and the chemicals added to them are as follows:
1: Chlorzylcinol (Detol and Datol Soup)
2: Methyl isothiazolinone (Lifebuoy Handwash)
3: Zinc Pyrithione (Safe Guard)
4: Colloidal Silver (Life Boy Soap claims that they use Active Silver but have not yet been contacted to determine if it is Colloidal Silver.)
5: Truckcarbon (Safe Guard Soap Zinc before Pyriton)
6: Triclosan (palmolio antibacterial soup and lotion)
The difference between common soap and pesticidal soap is that ordinary soap is washed off 99.9% of germs. While 99.9 kills germs. In both cases the result is exactly the same. But the frequent use of antibacterial soaps is creating a strong immune response to the bacteria. Which as a whole is a risk. On the other hand, the continuous use of these chemical compounds is causing hormone imbalance in humans. So in 2013, the US FDA issued an order to all these soap-making companies to prove that their antibacterial soap is benefiting humans more than ordinary soap. Or that it prevents the germs from growing in the long run.
No company has failed to provide any proof. They were even given a one-year deadline from the institution. In a year, no company could provide any proof of any kind. Therefore, in 2016, an order prevented all companies from selling anti-bacterial soaps containing nineteen chemical compounds to the general consumer. Yes, in the US, all plays like Detol, Detol Soup, Safe Guard and others are forbidden.
Despite all this, the assertion of these companies is that in countries like ours where there is no consumer heir, they are fearlessly repeating the same claim which the FDA could not prove. If we have the resources here and the institutions are strong, we too can be saved from these global frauds.
My intentions here are not to blame any company or brand rather to show people of less developed countries that these are outdated ideas being applied within our countries. These brands earn billions and trillions they have only one idea in their mind just to sell the product. It is the duty of regulatory authorities and scientific and health councils to cross check the human consumables whether they come into safe for humans category or not.
